SMRT is a multi-disciplinary, full-service architecture and engineering firm specializing in the design of high-performing, complex and sustainable environments nationwide with a concentration in the Northeast. Our internship program focuses on creating opportunities for our student interns to hone their skills and gain valuable real-life experience.

Program Details: SMRT’s Summer Internship Program runs for 12 Weeks from June to August.

  • Our internships are paid positions.
  • Interns must be able to work in-person in the office where they accept the internship.
  • Application Window Ends: January 15, 2025.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education : You’ve completed at least two years of a NAAB-certified Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architect Program.
  • Portfolio : Architecture students are required to provide a portfolio to be considered.
  • Travel : Must be able to travel to the Portland, ME office for the Intern Summit, and the Andover, MA office for a mid-point check-in (travel expenses paid by SMRT).

Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in an NAAB-certified Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architect Program.
  • Have completed the second year of the degree program prior to to the start of the internship.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Experience with REVIT, preferred.
  • Ability to read design documents
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to work hard and have fun at the same time
