About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to serve as a key leader in the organization. The CMO will be responsible for providing a vital link between the medical staff and hospital leadership, with a focus on fostering superior relationships with physicians and ensuring their input in major decisions. This role is pivotal in the development and implementation of strategic and operating plans, particularly in the areas of service line development and physician relationships. The CMO will also be instrumental in setting and maintaining quality standards, leading continuous quality improvement processes, and promoting the company's programs and services to referring physicians. Candidates for the CMO position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited medical school, completed an accredited residency program, and be board-certified in their specialty. A Master's degree in business or healthcare administration is also required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years' clinical practice experience, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership role, and a proven track record in leading quality improvement initiatives. Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a complex, matrix reporting environment. The CMO will be expected to make independent, professional decisions that impact patient care and the overall operation of the healthcare system.
