Salary Range:$20.00 To $22.00 Hourly DOE

Skillforce is currentlyhiring motivated and reliable General Laborers Apprentices in the Columbia, MD and Laurel, MD areas for an ongoing project located on Ft. Meade. In this role, you will support various construction tasks, ensuring that the project run smoothly and efficiently. Due to the nature of the job site you must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings and must be a US Citizen.

Minimum Qualifications:

• General Knowledge of company safety program.
• General knowledge of construction site format, function and layout.
• Possess sufficient strength, skill, dexterity, construction and endurance to perform the functions of the job properly in a reasonable and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attends required safety ,meetings; complies with company safety program and policies.
• Assist in the setup and teardown of construction sites (Demolition work).
• Performs general housekeeping like clean up and trash removal.
• Safely and efficiently handles and stores other materials used on site such as curing compound, form oil, shovels, and other materials.
• Safely and efficiently work with concrete in slabs, walls, columns, foundations, and curbs.
• Safely and efficiently handles and moves forming materials such as metal scaffolding, aluminum beams, plywood, 2x4's, re-shores (mega shores, doka props, 4x4 jack props), adjustable screws, base plates, cross braces, connectors, universal heads, and other equipment.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift and carry at least 85+ pounds
• Possess sufficient strength, skill, dexterity, and endurance to perform the functions of the job
• Work in outdoor conditions, year-round, at a concrete construction site where noise, vibrations, and hazards associated with this type of work exist.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 year of construction experience.
• Preferred: Masonry experience with concrete.
• Physical stamina and strength to handle demanding tasks in various environments.
• The following documents are required to obtain site access and must be in good condition:
  1. REAL ID [OR] Valid U.S. passport, TWIC or CAC card [AND]
  2. Social Security Card [AND]
  3. Original U.S. birth certificate [OR] Naturalization documentation
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including a drug screen.
• Must be a US Citizen. No exceptions!!
