Job Description

Camp Danbee, a premier girls' summer camp in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts, is seeking a Culinary Arts Program Director to lead our vibrant and engaging Culinary Studio for Summer 2025!

This is a specialty leadership role that focuses on managing the Culinary Arts program-coordinating daily cooking classes, overseeing Culinary staff, and creating a supportive, safe, and fun learning environment for campers aged 7-15. Unlike bunk counselors, this role does not involve living with campers, allowing you to focus fully on delivering an exceptional program experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of the Culinary Arts program at camp
• Manage a team of instructors, ensuring engaging, age-appropriate lessons
• Oversee kitchen safety, cleanliness, and organization within the Culinary Studio
• Guide campers through fun, hands-on cooking projects, from cupcakes to cultural cuisine
• Collaborate with the Program Team on scheduling and special events
• Be a positive, energetic presence who empowers campers to try new things and develop skills

• Experience teaching or working in a kitchen/classroom setting (schools, camps, or community programs)
• Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen organization
• A passion for working with children and creating a positive learning environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Availability from early June through August 10th (exact dates flexible for the right candidate)
