Swish Data is seeking a skilled Level IV ETL Developer with proven experience in modernizing ETL workflows to join our dynamic data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and optimizing ETL processes and pipelines. You will play a crucial role in transforming legacy ETL systems into scalable, efficient, and cloud-optimized solutions that support our data-driven business strategies. This role will be remotely working Eastern Standard Time core hours.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
• Modernize legacy ETL workflows by adopting scalable and efficient architectures using modern data platforms.
• Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver optimal ETL solutions.
• Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and reliability, leveraging cloud-native technologies and big data tools.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through automated testing, monitoring, and validation frameworks.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance in ETL processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data inconsistencies, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.
• Maintain thorough documentation of ETL workflows, data models, and architecture decisions.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and ETL modernization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent years’ experience.
• 3+ years of experience in ETL development with a strong focus on modernizing ETL workflows.
• Clearance Level – DoD Secret or DHS or any agency Public Trust equivalent
• Proficiency with ETL tools such as Qlik/Talend, Databricks, or AWS Glue.
• Strong expertise in SQL and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
• Programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java for ETL development and automation.
• Knowledge of distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., GitLab).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data quality.
• Master’s degree in a related field a plus
• Experience migrating ETL workflows from on-premises systems to the cloud a plus
• Knowledge of data lake architectures and streaming data pipelines a plus
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) a plus
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices a plus
