Position Overview:

The Financial Planning Analyst will serve as a key financial leader within UPA, taking full ownership of the organization’s financial model . This role will be responsible for ensuring financial alignment across the company’s operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for MLP by Margaritaville , The Carvana PPA Tour , and broader organizational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Model Ownership:

• Develop, manage, and continuously refine UPA’s comprehensive financial model, ensuring it serves as a reliable tool for decision-making.
• Integrate new data points and adapt the model as the organization evolves.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Lead the development of full-year financial forecasts, collaborating with departments to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
• Monitor and track department-level and event-specific budgets, providing actionable variance analysis.

Accounts Receivable Management:

• Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders.

Player Contract & Prize Money Tracking:

• Manage and track player contract payouts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with terms.
• Oversee prize money disbursements for tournaments, working closely with operations and legal teams.

Cash Flow Management:

• Forecast and monitor cash flow to ensure the organization’s financial health and support for operational and strategic initiatives.
• Identify risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to maintain liquidity.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports and insights to executive leadership.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support decision-making and organizational growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, or a related role.
• Strong financial modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience in sports, entertainment, or event-driven industries is a plus.
