1st Shift (United States of America) **Please review the following job description:** The Internship provides college students with a 12+ week unique application development experience offering the opportunity to assess interest and aptitude for a career in Salesforce development. During this internship, interns will learn development processes and the insurance industry, as well as the TIH Insurance Holdings organization as a whole and the unique way each entity contributes to the overall success of the organization. Interns will gain general application development knowledge, insurance and business insight, experience the organizations culture, and play a meaningful role in supporting the organizations goals. Interns will also develop leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. **Each Intern will:**
  1. Participate in IT projects, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  2. Complete assignments that assist the department in its mission while helping the intern learn more about the corporate environment.
  3. Learn about insurance, the industry workflow, and various divisions within the organization as assigned during the internship.
  4. Gain analytical, technical, and decision-making skills through formal and informal learning opportunities.
  5. Complete all assigned training satisfactorily.
  6. Network with leaders, experienced teammates, and other interns to develop lasting professional connections.
  7. Receive formal and informal feedback throughout the program.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Required Qualifications:** The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Completion of at least sophomore-level coursework with strong academic performance leading towards a bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, or related field at an accredited college or university. Must be currently enrolled. + Should have experience in JavaScript; Java experience is a plus.
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and maintain professional composure.
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Office.
  4. Must be located in DFW** , able to work in the Dallas office every Tuesday.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
  1. Interest in pursuing application development as a career.
  2. Practical knowledge of Salesforce administration and/or development is a plus.
  3. Previous work experience or internship.
  4. Demonstrated flexibility in managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  5. Demonstrated leadership aptitude.
This is a hybrid role with 1 day in the office in the Dallas location. Will be flexible depending on class schedule.
