International Cost Accounting Controller – San Antonio

We are a dynamic and professional services firm dedicated to delivering a comprehensive range of program support solutions to both government agencies and corporate clients. Our core service areas include Operational Management & Support (OM&S), Information Technology (IT), Professional Consulting, and Commercial Systems . Within OM&S, we specialize in employee relocations, international logistics, facilities management, and training development .

This is a hybrid role , offering the flexibility of working three days in the office and two days remotely each week .

Position Overview

As a Government Cost Accounting Controller , you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting principles, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines .

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End/Year-End Close

  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain internal controls , ensure compliance with contractual financial terms, and oversee billing and revenue recognition .
  • Prepare and reconcile financial schedules, balance sheets, and income statements .

Billing & Revenue Management

  • Lead the end-to-end billing process , identifying and implementing process improvements .
  • Drive efficiencies in accounts receivable and payable , ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Strengthen internal controls while eliminating non-value-added tasks .

Accounting Operations & Process Improvement

  • Enhance communication and standardize accounting operations across client and internal teams.
  • Implement best practices to streamline financial processes and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Act as a key contributor in financial management and process enhancement initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and direct the finance and billing team , balancing managerial responsibilities with hands-on contributions.
  • Provide training and guidance on financial transactions and reporting best practices .

Client & Stakeholder Support

  • Collaborate closely with domestic and international managers and client teams to deliver high-quality financial support and customer service.
  • Drive efficiency improvements across all accounting and finance-related functions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Stay informed on government accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices .

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (B.S.) required; CPA preferred .
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with 5+ years in leadership roles .
  • Hands-on experience in Deltek Costpoint .
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally
  • Extensive experience in AR/AP, Payroll, General Ledger, Asset Management, Purchasing, and Tax Reporting .
  • Strong background in month-end close processes, financial reporting, and compliance .
  • Experience with billing, project accounting, cost accounting, and process workflow improvements .
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in complex, integrated accounting systems .
  • Exceptional problem-solving, change management, and communication skills .
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
