SUMMARY Mitsubishi Power Americas is a major power generation equipment and storage solutions provider for the energy industry. As a Logistics Project Manager, you are responsible for developing and implementing project logistics operational strategies; managing on-time, safe and quality deliveries to project site locations; managing logistics service provider operational relationships; and managing project logistics budgets, including opportunity development and risk mitigation. Main project logistics focus for this individual is heavy haul & over-dimensional logistics, including breakbulk/heavy lift ocean, barge, rail, and over-the-road modes of transport.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Responsible for project logistics operational excellence for all transport modes to meet customer deliverables, with a focus on heavy haul & over-dimensional logistics including breakbulk/heavy lift ocean, barge, rail, and over-the-road modes of transport.
- Develop and implement project logistics strategies and approaches to meet Project Management and as-sold project requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, project managers, and external partners to understand project requirements, timelines, and resource constraints. Provide logistics expertise and guidance to support project planning and execution.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with project deliveries, including heavy haul logistics, such as road restrictions, permitting, or equipment limitations.
- Identify and implement opportunities that improve project logistics performance and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Establish and track project-specific goals, metrics, and trends to ensure project executes withing established Project Management controls.
- Apply technical knowledge to evaluate transportation methods, route planning, and equipment selection for safe and efficient cargo delivery to support both Estimating and Execution phases.
- Ensure engineered method statement are established, reviewed, and approved per company standards.
- Develop and manage operational relationships with Carriers, Riggers, Railroads, 3PLs and 4PLs to ensure effectiveness of operational activities and ensuring strategic operational execution initiatives are aligned with logistics service providers.
- Monitor supplier performance, implement lessons learned and supplier improvement plans, including adherence to guidelines and compliance initiatives.
- Stay updated on market trends, industry innovations, and emerging technologies in heavy haul and project logistics that could support Mitsubishi strategic goals.
- Monitor market fluctuations and demonstrate adaptability for supply chain disruptions that could impact customer timelines and contractual terms.

- Education and/or Experience:bachelor's degree from accredited college or university; and ten (10) years of project logistics experience preferably managing heavy haul and over-dimensional loads, including breakbulk/heavy lift ocean, barge, rail and over-the-road modes of transport; or, fifteen (15) years of project logistics experience; OR, any equivalent combination developed either working for an OEM or in the logistics service provider industry.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as budgets, estimates to completion and comparisons to as-sold amounts.
- Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to identify, analyze and mitigate risk, including making recommendations to management.
- Data Skills: Ability to process large amounts of data and make decision based on such data.
- Management & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate job task, goals and projects to project management and supply chain management staff well as manage and delegate when necessary. Self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in an international, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
- Technical and Commercial expertise in heavy haul and over-dimensional loads, including breakbulk/heavy lift ocean, barge, rail and over-the-road modes of transport, regulations, equipment, and methods, is required.
- Candidates with an extensive network of contacts within Project Logistics Service Providers incl. Carriers, Riggers, 3PLs, 4PLs, freight forwarders, etc. will be preferable.
- Travel up to 20%.
