Get to Know Your Team: Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital, with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology and oncology services. Learn About a Day in a Life of a PCT: Responsibilities Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs. Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered nurses or other medical staff. Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests. Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties. Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School or GED. Must have BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position. Preferred Job Requirements: 2 years’ experience in acute or long-term care. Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school. Knowledge of medical terminology Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course. Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy. Competent in performing in at least two general areas of practice (cross-trained and cross-competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).
