Job Description Position Overview: The Project Manager/Estimator will be responsible for managing fire protection projects from inception to completion and preparing detailed cost estimates for fire alarm and sprinkler systems. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong project management and estimating skills, as well as a thorough understanding of fire protection systems and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage all phases of fire protection projects, including planning, execution, and closeout. Develop detailed cost estimates for fire alarm and sprinkler system installations and upgrades. Prepare project proposals, budgets, and schedules. Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met. Perform site visits to assess project scope and gather necessary information for accurate estimating. Review and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical plans. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Conduct regular project meetings and provide updates to clients and senior management. Identify and mitigate potential project risks and issues. Maintain thorough project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and estimating, preferably in the fire protection industry. Strong knowledge of fire alarm and sprinkler systems, as well as NFPA codes and standards. Proficient in estimating software and project management tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project). Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems and/or Water-Based Systems Layout is a plus.
