Restaurant Controller Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller. We're looking for a team oriented and organized individual to join our growing executive team. The Controller will play an important strategic role in the success of our growing brand. The Controller is tasked with driving and implementing accounting practices for all units, designed to achieve objectives focused on driving sales, guest count, and profits for the business.

• Oversee monthly financial closings, including banking and payroll
• Prepare budget preparation and budget variance analysis
• Prepare and maintain analytical financial statement reviews
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual P&L's
• Coordinate with tax advisers
• Create and verify journal entries
• Maintain balance sheet weekly

To Join Our Team, you will need:

• Minimum of 5 years of Accounting Service
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• Experience with Restaurants/R365
• High communication skills to cultivate relationships and provide smooth communication between Director, Managers, and Administration
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize to meet deadlines is crucial
• Ability to guide, manage, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial process are being used
• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
• Enthusiasm, confidence, and curiosity

We're especially looking for a candidate who has:

• CPA preferred
• Experience in Training and Development
